Office Readiness - Computer Check

This guide outlines the steps you should perform on your desktop computer or laptop when you return to the office after an extended period of time away.

Laptop Users Only

When you arrive at your desk:

  • If you have a docking station, connect the USB-C cable from your dock to your laptop. This connects your laptop to your external monitor(s) and the internal network.

Restart and Login

  1. Once you are at your desktop or have docked your laptop, you should restart your computer first by (1) clicking the Start (Windows) button on your screen, then (2) the Power button and then (3) the Restart button.

  2. This restarts your computer and brings you to the Windows lock screen:

  3. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to unlock the screen.

  4. You should then see your name on the login screen. Enter your nycourts.gov Outlook password and log in.

a. If you see CCI Admin or another person’s name, click on Other User in the bottom left corner.

b. Enter the first part of your nycourts.gov email address. (e.g., JDoe@nycourts.gov) and then the password for your nycourts.gov account.

Verify Network Access

Once you are logged in, you should see a small monitor icon on the bottom right of your screen. Click on the monitor icon. It should say ucs.courtnet.org and Connected.

If you do not see the monitor icon or a Globe icon, it means your computer does not have access to the network. You should restart your computer and check again. If you have a laptop, disconnect and reconnect the USB-C plug and then restart.

If you still do not have connectivity after restarting and reconnecting the cables, please submit a ticket at https://courtinnovation.org/support.

Verify Outlook Connection

  1. Open your Outlook application and verify that it says Connected to: Microsoft Exchange on the bottom of the application’s window.

  2. Open File Explorer (Windows+E), click on This PC on the left side and verify you can see if you have access to your Shared Network Drives.

If you are missing access to a Shared Network Drive, type Run in the Search bar, open the Run app, type or paste in the following string in the Open field and click OK.

%logonserver%\netlogon\Login\CCI\Map Network Drives.LNK

You should see a black window come up with lines of text. This is a script that will run and map any drive you have access to.

Printer Access

If you were able to follow the steps above and had no issues, your printers should map automatically. To verify, you can type in printer in your search bar and open the Printers & scanners app.
