How-To: Screenshot/Capture with Snip & Sketch (Windows 10)
Sometimes you want to share a screenshot with I.T., or show a colleague something you found on the web that can't be copied and pasted. Enter Snip & Sketch!
In Windows 10 you can take screenshots of windows, or a region on your screen--or all of your screen.
Just press Windows logo key + Shift + S. This grays out your screen and displays a snipping tool at the top center of your screen:
The tools (from left to right) are:
Rectangular snip. Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.
Free-form snip. Draw a free-form shape around an object.
Full-screen snip. Capture the entire screen.
Once you've snipped your selection, it automatically copies the image and place it in your buffer. Navigate to where you want to place the image (like an email or the Attachment field of a tech support ticket) and press Ctrl-V to paste it.
The full Snip & Sketch application can be found by clicking in the Windows Search bar:
If you open it up you can see in the upper-left hand corner a drop-down for making a new snip:
You can even time delay the snip so the menu or window so you have time to initiate with your mouse/cursor.
And there's a bunch of annotation tools available, too:
