Want the ability to do video and group conference calls? There are several options and this guide helps you select the best, cost-effective solution for your needs.

I want to host a conference call that people can dial in to - no video

  • The Center has an account with TurboBridge that gives you the ability to set-up a conference line and have anyone dial into it.
  • Create a Tech Support ticket if you want a TurboBridge account.

I want to host a video meeting or video presentation with other CCI staff only

  • CCI staff almost all use Skype for Business which allows you to set-up conference calls and conference meetings.
  • Staff must have a computer with a speaker or headset to connect to the Skype meeting.  They can not dial in.
  • There is no time limit for Skype video meetings
  • You can schedule meetings in advance with Skype for Business
  • Skype for Business is buggy when using it with people outside of CCI or OCA
  • Skype for Business is free for CCI staff

I want to host a video meeting or presentation with people inside and outside CCI

  • Google Meets allows you to create a video meeting and invite anyone, regardless of where they work
  • There is no time limit for Google Meets meeting
  • You can do screenshares with Google Meets
  • You can schedule meetings in advance with Google Meets
  • Google Meets is free for CCI staff, if you login to Google with your courtinnovation.org (or other CCI-approved google account)
  • To use Google Meets, go to https://meet.google.com/ and login with your courtinnovation.org account or other CCI-approved google account

I want to host a video meeting with a dial-in option

  • Google Meets creates a dial-in option when you create a meeting
  • You can dial out from Google Meets as well to someone's phone

I want to host a presentation for a very large number of people with advanced functionality

  • Zoom allows for long presentations, with hundreds of attendees, with advanced options such as small breakout groups, allowing people to virtually raise their hands, etc
  • Zoom is not free and should be a last resort when none of the other options will meet your needs
  • To request Zoom you can send a ticket to IT and outline why the other free options will not meet your needs

  • No labels
