When you are unable to answer the phone, Voicemail will pickup messages for you, you can record a message for the callersVoicemail records messages from your missed callers. However, you need to record a voicemail greeting for your callers. Follow the steps below to record your voicemail greeting and name.

Step-by-step guide

AVAYA/Nortel

  1. Login to your voice mailbox.

  2. Press 8*, then press 2.

  3. Press 1 to record your external greeting.

  4. Press 5 to begin recording and the # key to stop.

  5. Press 2 to listen

Polycom

    or press messages button from the phone itself.
  2. Press "Messages" if asked
  3. Phone will ask to enter password followed by the # key

In addition to your greeting, you should record your name:

  1. Dial *97 or press "Messages" button and hit corresponding button to "Connect."

  2. Enter your current password followed by # key.

  3. Press 0 for advanced options.

  4. Press 3 to begin recording your name and # to stop.

  5. Press 1 to accept this recording.

Systems allow to record your name as well as your greeting which are used to announce you or to ask for caller to leave a message.
